How many celebrity chefs can you think of who have not one, but two catchphrases? During each show, you can count on him adding something spicy to a dish he’s preparing, and “kicking it up a notch.” Then, he does his reaction – “Bam!”

Emeril has had a couple of shows on the Food Network – Emeril Live and The Essence of Emeril. He’s also been on the Planet Green, Ion, and Shop at Home networks, and once had a brief self-titled sitcom. It appears that he’s always got something cooking for television. “Bam!”

Emeril gained fame, of course, from his Cajun and creole restaurant in New Orleans. He’s opened and closed several other locations over the years, and I had the mixed pleasure of dining at his now shuttered Atlanta location. It was a beautiful room with excellent service, but I was honestly a bit disappointed in the food. Maybe my expectations were unreasonably high. Emeril still has three restaurants in New Orleans, four in Las Vegas, two in Orlando, and three in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
