Destin lies along Florida's Emerald Coast, a stretch of powder white sand on the Panhandle. Uploaded by wallpapers.eu.com.
Some of America’s best white sand beaches with aqua water are along the Gulf coast of Florida. We highlighted a couple before- Siesta Beach near Sarasota, and Panama City Beach on the Panhandle. There’s another Panhandle beach I love, considered one of the most beautiful in the country. It’s Destin, along what a smart marketing fella named The Emerald Coast.

Destin isn’t old as resort towns go. While folks have been coming to its beaches for more than a century, the first condos weren’t built until the 1970s. And the city wasn’t incorporated until 1984. But it’s more than made up for lost time, with an annual calendar of art shows, fun runs, music festivals, and more.
One characteristic that sets Destin apart from other beach towns is its boating culture. The town has a longstanding fishing culture, and still has the nickname “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.” It’s home to Florida’s largest fleet of deep sea fishing boats. Come on down and hire a captain and head out to the Gulf, or rent a boat or yacht for your own adventure. Whatever you choose, you’re going to want to return to beautiful Destin.
